Boy Scouts of America Prepared for Life

Who we are

Troop 1114 is a member of the Orion District of the Sam Houston Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America and is chartered through the United Methodist Church of Magnolia.  Founded in 1974, Troop 1114 is celebrating its 49th year of Scouting adventure and promotion of timeless, honorable values.  Since its inception, Troop 1114 has witnessed many of its Scouts rise to the highest rank within Boy Scouts, that of Eagle Scout.  With dedicated youth leadership and parental support, Troop 1114 will continue to provide the opportunity and resources for other Scouts to also accomplish this prestigious achievement.

What we do

Our goal is to provide an atmosphere for growth in which a Scout may develop into a young adult who is a mature, responsible citizen. The troop strives to instill a desire for excellence and presents each Scout with opportunities to:

  • Have fun
  • Develop new interests and learn new skills
  • Learn the fundamental elements of teamwork
  • Take responsibility for his conduct, his appearance, and for his own achievements
  • Be helpful and to do his best
  • Develop self-esteem
  • Prepare for new and greater challenges
  • Handle the responsibilities he has to God, to country, to others, and to himself
  • Keep himself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
  • To live the scout law and oath in his everyday life

When we do it

Our Troop meets at the United Methodist Church in Magnolia, TX on most Monday Nights at 7:00 pm. The troop meetings are where we practice and learn some skills, work on achievements and plan for upcoming events. Generally once a month we go camping or on a similar outdoor trip.
